What to Expect
If you’re interested in attending our weekend services, we hope the info below will give you an idea of what to anticipate.
What is the music like?
We spend time in every service worshiping Jesus through music. Our music leader leads with a mixture of hymns, accompanied by piano, guitar and violin. You can either follow along in the hymnal or read the words as they are visually displayed.
What is the preaching like?
Preaching is the main part of the service. Our Pastor teaches from the Bible, To us, the Bible is not merely a historical document. We believe it is always relevant, and always applicable to your life every day.
What should I wear?
You’ll be just fine in jeans and a t-shirt, or business casual attire, or a dress or shirt-and-tie… whatever makes you feel comfortable. We welcome you just as you are.
Will my kids sit with me?
While you’re participating in the worship song service they will sit with you. When our pastor is getting ready to share God’s word, your kids can go downstairs where they will learn more about Jesus in a fun and age-appropriate way in our Children’s Church. Nursery is also available for newborns through 2 years of age. Children through 5th grade can attend the Children’s Church.
Leadership
The Lord has provided wonderful people to work together to shepherd Faith Bible Church. While God’s Word exhorts everyone in the church to do “the work of the ministry” (Ephesians 4:12), some people have special spiritual gifts and hold leadership roles and responsibilities within our congregation. Below are some important leadership offices held by the members.
Executive Board: Pastor, the Elders and the Deacons
Elders
Faith Bible is an elder-led congregation. This means that our Elders assist the Pastor in the spiritual shepherding of the church. Our elders are appointed by the church membership and they must meet the qualifications of Elder as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9. The elders actively respond to pastoral needs by praying, caring, and ministering directly to the congregation.
Deacons
Faith Bible has a Deacon board that has been appointed by the church body. The deacon’s help with membership cultivation, they are responsible for the administration of the benevolence fund for those in need, they take care of the church finances, communion and upkeep of the building. They also serve as greeters and pass the plates for tithes and offerings.
Church Board
Faith Bible’s board are those who are appointed by the church body to give leadership to many essential ministry roles. They work together to make the church run smoothly.
